How I started my journey?
During daily clinical consultations in the NHS general practice, I have started noticing common medical symptoms in women in their early 45’s and 50’s. These were irregular periods, low mood, anxiety, brain fog, occasional night sweats or hot flushes. Often it turned out to be perimenopausal or menopausal hormonal changes.
Another group of women were in their postmenopausal stage, in the early 60’s or 70’s and they experienced post menopause related symptoms such as recurrent urinary tract infections or vaginal soreness and itchiness.
This was a turning point of my educational journey into women’s health management, followed by completing menopause management courses from the British Menopause Society (BMS) and International Menopause Society (IMS). Advanced clinical education in menopause care provided a solid background knowledge to treat women with HRT, advise on non-hormonal treatment options, evaluate risks for bone fractures and osteoporosis, educate on cardiovascular and breast cancer risks.
Working in the NHS for the last 20 years, as well as in the private medical practice, I hope to help any woman who would benefit from a personalised approach treatment plan, advocating patients through every step in their journey or just simply be there when is needed most.
